i think i got a 40 /40 because i did everything that the rubric told me to. I had a point to my story, it was also clear in what i was saying. i had more the 10 pictures and my music went along with the pictures.

Reflection

i commented on Madison Lock, Brianni Vincent , and Donna Cucuzza

i think all the videos i looked at was very good. They all had there different style and put there personality into the video too.  they had meaning to the video,  Brianni and Madison both did it on there dreams and Donna did it on community. i learned a lot on Donna's video it was very educational. but in over all they were all good.

Post/comment on one thing you learned about someone Else's culture.

what i learned from someone else blog was that America has a mixtures of traditions but it does have it own too. us americans life a pretty good life and i like it. i might be from italy but i am also proud to say i live in america and follow there culture.

What does culture mean to you?

Posted by Gabrielle La Fata 10:59 AM

culture to me is very important its the core of who people are. i am proud to say that i am 100 percent Sicilian i can speak it little and visit my cousin in Italy maybe twice a year. my dad and sisters also my mom father were born and raises in Italy in till the age of there 20s they moved to america . i think being Italian it a good thing, my family always sticks together no matter what and we live by each other just in case. we always have our big Sunday dinners and eat so much. my grandparents wants me to meet a Italian guy and have little Italian kids. but even though they can get on my last nerve, i still will love them to death.

Images create an atmosphere or tone that matches some parts of the story. The images may communicate symbolism/ metaphors.

An attempt was made to use images to create an atmosphere/tone but it needed more work. Image choice is logical.

Little or no attempt to use images to create an appropriate atmosphere/tone.

ORGANIZATION

Sequencing of Information

Graphics & story line are organized in a clear, logical way. The story is easy to follow.

Most information is organized in a clear, logical way.  One picture seems to be out of place.

Two or more pictures seem to be out of place making the story difficult to follow.

There is no clear story.  Pictures seem to be sequenced randomly.

Voice quality is clear and consistently audible through some (70-84%)of the presentation.

Voice quality needs more attention.

STYLE

Voice - Pacing

The pace (rhythm and voice punctuation) fits the story line and helps the audience really "get into" the story.

Occasionally speaks too fast or too slowly for the story line. The pacing (rhythm and voice punctuation) is relatively engaging for the audience.

Tries to use pacing (rhythm and voice punctuation), but it is often noticeable that the pacing does not fit the story line. Audience is not consistently engaged.

No attempt to match the pace of the storytelling to the story line or the audience.

STYLE

Layout

Layout is exceptionally creative and visually appealing.  The fonts, color, and background all work together to provide a consistent theme and a presentation that is easy to view/read.

Layout is creative and visually appealing.  The fonts, colors, and background almost provide a clear theme. It is generally an easy presentation to read and follow.

Layout is visually appealing although some slides may be too cluttered or too empty.  The fonts, colors, and background do not necessarily provide a theme and there may be parts that are difficult to view/read.

Layout lacks visual appeal and is sometimes too cluttered or too empty.  It may be confusing at times.  The fonts, color, and background do not work well together  in the presentation making it difficult to view/read. There may be too many types of fonts, etc.

Digital Story 2 Topic
My second story is going to be about dyslexia. its something i lived with for many years, and want to learn why we learn/ understand/ read/ write differently. There are many famous people that has dyslexia such as tom Cruise, Orlando Bloom and Cher etc. its not something that in shy of, that's why i want to explain to other people. For me its just a way of life, but to others it might be a question. when i tell a person i am dyslexic people always want to know what it is, so that's one of the reason why i want to make a video about it and i want others to realized that its actually an interesting reason why i and other dyslexic people is the way we are.

Portfolio Reflection
my comparison between my video and the Graduate profile is that my video contains a lot of the same connect that the graduate profile is written about. such as being Academically Prepared and being Collaborative Team Members. in my video  it shows you that i'm Academically prepared because i write to get better and i have a job.  also being Collaborative Team Members is a bigger part of my video because im on a lot of teams and i relized being on a team is very helpful in life. it not only fun but it teaches you to become one with a team to reach a goal.

my video isn't an about me it explains how i became my self in my generation. i had to think long and hard to make my video about my family and what I've became. i like old music like Queen and Beatles and i think that makes me have and more of an open
mind to understand what happened in the passed. i don't think soccer is a popular sport but i love it and its a huge
part of me, my family and my culture. my video explains what i do but not why i do things. i play soccer
because my whole family is crazy about it for years. also being Italian made me realized how different my family
is from everyone else. i hope you enjoy my video and understand little bit of me .
